Energy Resources named a “Global Mongol” for the second year

The Global Mongol event, which recognises the organisations and individuals raising Mongolia’s standing on the world stage and leading the way with their achievements, was held for the second year on the auspicious 15th day of the first month of spring.

Energy Resources named a “Global Mongol” for the second year

Nominated from every field of society — politics, the arts, sport and science — and chosen by public vote, nine were named Global Mongols: the national mining company Energy Resources LLC; the Erdenet Mining Corporation; the Morin Khuur Ensemble, which has become a calling card for Mongolia and promoted the country across the continents; the Honoured Artist of Mongolia and ballet dancer D. Altankhuyag; the internationally recognised Mongolian professional and Chairman of the Board of the Stock Exchange B. Bold; the archaeologist L. Erdenebold; orloo.com, the information bridge for Mongolians around the world; and the Civil Aviation Authority, a leader in technological renewal and investment. That Energy Resources was named a Global Mongol by public vote for the second year was another notable feature of this selection. Last year the Company was selected as a Global Mongol for being the first of Mongolia’s national companies to enter the international capital market and win the confidence of global investors, while this year, the organisers noted, it demonstrated through many indicators that the professional skills of Mongolian engineers and technical staff have reached world level within the Ukhaa Khudag project. The Global Mongol event is organised together with the national daily newspaper Udriin Shuudan and the website Top.mn.

Presenting the trophy to the management of Energy Resources, Honoured Cultural Figure of Mongolia Kh. Tsevelee said: I consider this a leading Mongolian company that is making its name in the world. In Mongolia there are two questions — whether to grow rich or to develop. To develop means to create. For that reason, honouring Energy Resources, which is carrying out genuine development and growing, as a Global Mongol organisation was truly the right choice.
