The “For a better future” student scholarship programme is announced

Aim of the programme

Aim of the programme

As part of our work to support the education sector, the aim is to support leading students studying mining and other related fields.

Value of the scholarship and number of students

  • A total of 40 students will be selected
  • They will receive a monthly scholarship of ₮100,000 during the 2012–2013 academic year

If you are selected for the scholarship, you will have the following opportunities:

  • The top 10 students will receive the monthly scholarship during their studies and the opportunity to complete an industrial internship at the Ukhaa Khudag mine of Energy Resources LLC
  • All students selected for the programme will receive the monthly scholarship during their studies and the opportunity to take part in a tour of the Energy Resources LLC development

Requirements

  • Be a student of an accredited university or college of Mongolia
  • Be in the final or penultimate year in the 2012–2013 academic year
  • Be a full-time student in one of the following fields:
    • Mining
    • Geology
    • Road construction
    • Chemical technology
    • Engineering and mechanics
    • Construction
    • Environment
  • Have a grade point average (GPA) in that field of 3.0 (85% on the points scale) or above

Selection process and timetable

1. Receipt of applications for the programme and assessment of application forms and supporting documents

March 2012

Materials will be received electronically and assessed against the programme’s preliminary conditions.

Students applying for the scholarship should complete the online application form at scholarship.energyresources.mn. A photograph and transcript of grades must also be attached.

2. Problem-solving skills test

April 2012

Students who meet the programme’s preliminary conditions will sit a test.

3. Professional level examination

April 2012

Students who pass the problem-solving test will sit a professional level examination.

4. Interview selection

April 2012

Students who pass the professional level examination will be invited to an interview, and up to 40 students will be selected.

5. Scholarship award ceremony

April 2012

Up to 40 students who pass the selection will be presented with their scholarships.

How do you register?

Registration materials from students applying for the scholarship will be accepted only at scholarship.energyresources.mn. The following materials must be attached.

  • Passport photograph
  • Copy of grade point average transcript
  • Copy of national identity card

Registration is open until 1 April 2012.
