In that selection, Energy Resources was placed in the top five and became one of Mongolia’s TOP 5 enterprises for 2017.

In ranking the TOP 100 enterprises, the Government of Mongolia and the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry take account of five main indicators: a company’s revenue for the year, taxes contributed to the state budget, number of employees, profit and assets. In 2017 Energy Resources contributed ₮87 billion to the state budget in taxes and contributions, provided direct and indirect employment for around 3,000 people and, by selling washed coking coal products with value added domestically, brought $476 million — around ₮1.2 trillion — of export revenue into the country’s economy. Its leadership in the sector in delivering integrated projects and programmes for the public good as part of corporate social responsibility was also a key factor in receiving this prestigious award.
