Implementing an integrated management system to international standards
Energy Resources has become the first company in Mongolia’s mining sector to begin implementing an integrated management system to international standards.
Implementing international ISO standards together, in a coordinated way and at system level, is what is known as an integrated management system. Specifically:
- ISO 9001:2015 for quality management systems
- ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management systems
- and OHSAS 18001:2007 for occupational health and safety management systems — an integrated system based on three standards in total has begun to be implemented.
Preparation for this important step took just over a year. ISO standard consultancy was provided by the Mongolian Association of Management Consultants, and the certification audit was carried out by qualified auditors of the AFNOR group of France and its accredited auditor in Mongolia, MonCertf LLC.
With the international ISO standards now fully implemented at system level, the Company strengthens its position as a leading Mongolian mining company, gains further international recognition and assurance in governance and management, and — importantly — helps to widen the opportunity for other companies in the sector to implement international standards in their own operations.
