The independent council of experts attached to the Mongolian Coal Association, together with the results of a public online survey, determined the “TOP 5” companies in the coal sector for the year.

The selection focused mainly on social and economic benefit — taxes paid to the state, construction and development, social responsibility and cooperation with local communities. It was also based on coal production data from the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority and on coal transport performance data for the first seven months of 2018 from the National Road Transport Center.
