Specifically, it has donated ₮370 million to provide the children’s intensive care units of hospitals in the Gobi aimags with essential equipment.

Under the project, the children’s units of Govisumber, Umnugobi, Dornogobi and Dundgobi aimags will be equipped with essential devices that are hard to obtain and in short supply, such as neonatal phototherapy units, incubators, infusion pumps and bilirubinometers. For our 10th anniversary we set out to do work that brings real benefit to society and to people. In 2018, including this project, we dedicated more than ₮1 billion in total to the health and education of the children who are Mongolia’s future.

The NGO is delivering a project to renew the equipment of neonatal and children’s units in hospitals of the Gobi aimags and soums, and our Company agreed to fund it. We provided a total of ₮370 million in support. We decided to work with the young people of the Healthy Children Bright Future NGO because we value the dedication they have shown over many years and are confident they will deliver the project successfully. 2018 is a very special year for our Company: we are marking the 10th year since young Mongolians took on the delivery of the Ukhaa Khudag project. As part of the anniversary we decided to focus on the issues facing society.”

Bat-Enkh, Executive Director of the Healthy Children Bright Future NGO: “Under the project, the neonatal intensive care units of the general hospitals of Umnugobi, Dundgobi, Dornogobi and Govisumber aimags in the Gobi region will each be provided with more than 10 items of essential equipment. These include neonatal incubators, phototherapy units, infusion pumps and bilirubinometers (devices that measure jaundice directly, without the need to take blood from the newborn) — equipment that is not provided from the budget, is hard to obtain, or is in short supply even when available. In the first phase the equipment will be delivered to the neonatal unit of the general hospital of Govisumber aimag. The work will then continue across all four aimags until spring 2019.”
