Energy Resources again ranked among Mongolia’s TOP 5 enterprises

In 2018 the Energy Resources group improved on all its indicators from the previous year, contributing around ₮219 billion to the state budget in taxes and fees and providing direct and indirect employment for more than 3,000 people. It also sold a total of 4.7 million tonnes of washed coal products, bringing $591 million, or ₮1.5 trillion, of export revenue into the economy. In ranking the TOP 100 enterprises, the Government of Mongolia and the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry take account of key indicators such as a company’s revenue for the year, taxes contributed to the state budget, number of employees, profit, assets and number of people covered by social insurance.

Energy Resources leads domestic enterprises in funding major social projects and programmes. In 2018 alone it provided around ₮1.5 billion of funding for “Land of Magic 2” — the largest voluntary child protection project in Mongolia — and other projects and programmes for the public good. In Tsogttsetsii soum, Umnugobi aimag, where it operates, it has built a housing district and a school and kindergarten as an integrated complex, and it delivers a wide range of projects and programmes supporting long-term local development, making it one of the leading companies in corporate social responsibility.
