The “Little Heart” project is delivering results
Under the “Little Heart” project, delivered together with the Mongolian Red Cross Society to give life to children with congenital heart defects, many Mongolian children have returned home in good health.
Last year, Mongolian and Chinese doctors carried out joint examinations of children with heart conditions at the P. N. Shastin Third State Central Hospital, then selected 40 children with limited treatment options and performed their operations in China, in Hohhot and Wuxi. All the operations were successful, and the first 25 children have now returned home to their parents in good health.
The operations were carried out using the most modern, advanced methods, with minimal incisions and discomfort for the patients, so the children are recovering quickly and their condition is improving fast. The next group of children will travel to China shortly for their operations and are currently receiving treatment at home.
T. Bayarchimeg, Deputy Chair of the Mongolian Red Cross Society: Our sincere thanks to the Chinese doctors, who performed these specialist heart operations in a short time with excellent organisation and great dedication, and to the doctors of the Shastin Third Hospital on the Mongolian side. Our thanks also to everyone at Energy Resources, who fully funded treatment that has brought light into the lives of many families and given life to little children.
G. Otgontuya, corporate social responsibility manager at Energy Resources LLC: Our Company covered 100 per cent of the cost of the operations and treatment for 40 children, providing funding of more than ₮940 million. It is wonderful to see the children’s operations succeed and the first of them return home. Our aim was to give life to as many children as possible, taking account of their condition and their families’ circumstances.
