Joining the “One Billion Trees” national movement
A ceremony was held at the State Palace at which enterprises committing to the “One Billion Trees” national movement initiated by the President of Mongolia signed the pledge.
The 21 major national enterprises taking part in the ceremony confirmed their support for the “One Billion Trees” national movement and committed to planting, growing and caring for a total of 608,500,000 trees by 2030.
Energy Resources signed the pledge confirming its plan to plant a total of 40 million trees in Umnugobi aimag by 2030.
The mining sector, which has continuously supported the country’s economy, is the sector that grows the most trees, through rehabilitation and environmental protection. We began planting and growing trees in the Gobi from the day the Company was founded, and today we have grown 150,000 trees of more than 30 species on 52 ha with a survival rate of 85 per cent — the result of more than ten years of tireless work and commitment by our miners.
The Ministry of Environment and Tourism said it would provide the enterprises joining the “One Billion Trees” national movement with consolidated guidance on methods, techniques and technology for planting and growing trees, and would work together with them.
