Around 300 parents and children attended the opening of the centre, which is on the ground floor of the miners’ “Tsetsii” district, where they received information from the teachers and sat in on trial lessons. The Governor of Tsogttsetsii soum in Umnugobi aimag, G. Batsmaa, said: “I think the opening of a training centre like this by Energy Resources is timely and shows a keen understanding of the issues facing our soum…”

The centre has capacity for around 200 children and will be staffed by experienced teachers invited from Ulaanbaatar and from the aimag and local area. In the first phase, tuition and revision classes will be offered to pupils in years 4–12 in four areas — English, mathematics, coding and EQ — and parents were grateful that, as part of the Company’s social responsibility, children of employees receive a discount for the first six months.
