100 millionth tonne of coal received and washed
Mongolia’s first coal washing plant at Ukhaa Khudag received and washed its first coal in June 2011; thirteen years later, on 30 July this year, came the historic day when it received and washed its 100 millionth tonne of coal.
To mark the occasion, the Company’s executive management congratulated all its miners and wished them continued success.
Energy Resources does not export raw coal: it washes and processes the coal into a product that meets world market standards. The plant is built as three modules, each able to wash and process 5 million tonnes of coal a year, with Module I commissioned in 2011, Module II in 2012 and Module III in 2013.
