91.6 per cent in the 2024 assessment against the Responsible Mining Code
Under the “Responsible Mining Code” of the Mongolian National Mining Association we carry out an annual self-assessment of our environmental, social, community and governance work, and an independent verification every three years.
We carried out a self-assessment of our 2024 operations under the Code and have openly reported an implementation rate of 91.6%.
Energy Resources LLC joined the “Unite for Responsibility” campaign in 2019 and, by signing the memorandum of understanding, became one of the first eight mining companies in Mongolia to begin implementing the Code.
The “Responsible Mining Code” is based on eight principles of responsible mining and has 5 main areas and 84 criteria. In its 2024 operations, Energy Resources LLC successfully met a total of 77 criteria and was assessed as follows:
Good corporate governance and transparency: 17/17
Labour relations and human rights: 17/19
Occupational health and safety: 13/13
Environmental protection: 16/18
Community development and public participation: 14/17
In 2025 we are working to improve these results further and to deliver best practice in responsible mining.
