As part of its social responsibility, and following a proposal from the Office of the President of Mongolia, our Company has planted a total of 40,000 trees 30 km north-east of the centre of Kharkhorin soum in Uvurkhangai aimag and successfully established a protective shelter belt covering 52.48 ha, in order to reduce desertification and land degradation and increase green cover.

These include:

• Poplar – 10,000
• Elm – 7,000
• Larch, pine and spruce – 4,000 each
• Yellow acacia and lilac – 3,000 each
• Bird cherry and apricot – 2,500 each.

To date, Energy Resources has planted around 380,000 trees in total under the “One Billion Trees” national movement, and pays particular attention to improving survival rates and growth quality.
